Decorative painting

The hand,
the material,
the illusion

Faux marble, faux bois and painted skies: a craft that brings materials into being, opens perspectives and extends the architecture.

Sky study painted in the studio
A rare craft

A decor passed on
from studio to studio.

Decorative painting freely reinterprets the decors and ornaments of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Trompe-l’œil marble and wood, painted skies, patinas: each technique has been handed down for centuries. Every decor calls for observation, patience and precision ; building the grounds, then successive glazes in water and oil, until the illusion holds.

Shown here are studio studies and samples, painted in acrylic with glazes in water and oil.

Grand antiqueBlack and white marble from the Ariège, of striking contrast, reserved for columns and chimneypieces.
Giallo di SienaThe “giallo”: a fine-grained limestone, from plain yellow to yellow clouded with white.
MacaubaA quartzite of fused crystals, vivid and luminous blue.
Where a decor belongs

A decor conceived
for its place.

The choice of technique begins with the effect sought, and with looking closely at the surface, the light and the way the room is used.

A singular commission

A painted decor,
made to measure.

A sky, a panel, a patina or a faux marble: decorative painting can be commissioned on its own or built into your interior project.

Every proposal states the surface, the technique, the reference sample and the execution. Dimensions, preparation, calendar and working conditions are set out in the quotation.

01

Discuss

The place, the surface, the effect sought and the constraints of the site.

02

Sketch

Research into pattern or finish, then a sample to approve.

03

Commit

A detailed quotation: technique, surfaces, preparation and calendar.

04

Paint

The decor is executed on site or in the studio, with close attention.

It always begins with a conversation

A surface,
a story to paint.

Describe the place and the surface: one conversation is enough to imagine the right decor.
